Conference Summaries Fall Conference 2011 The 65th annual AUBER conference was held in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 8-11, 2011 and was hosted by Ball State University, Purdue University, and Indiana University. The conference took place at the Indianapolis Hilton in downtown Indianapolis and had a special theme - The Business and Economics of Sports - reflecting Indianapolis' role as a major epicenter for both professional and collegiate sports. There was a field trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, now celebrating the centennial of the Indy 500 race. To see an overview of what occured and some presentations that were given go here. Fall Conference 2010 The 64th annual AUBER conference was held in Charleston, West Virginia, October 16-19, 2010 and was hosted by the West Virginia University Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The event was held at the Charleston Embassy Suites Hotel and coincided with the peak of the fall foliage in the Mountain State. The traditional AUBER Monday afternoon/evening event featured a motor coach ride from Charleston to the New River Gorge. Following a visit to a coal mine, the motor coach journeyed to Tamarack tamarackwv.com, which features the best of West Virginia artisans. Fall Conference 2009 The 63rd annual AUBER conference was held in Austin, Texas, October 18-20. Hosted by Dr. Bruce Kellison of the IC2 Institute’s Bureau of Business Research at the University of Texas at Austin, the conference took place at the historic Driskill Hotel located in the heart of downtown Austin’s entertaining 6th Street. A number of panels highlighted research on a variety of border issues, from security to trade and tourism.
